The Gateway Centre follows the National Curriculum for key stage 3 alongside the mainstream.  Students either attend mainstream for their teaching and learning or follow the same teaching and learning within the Gateway centre. 

Typically, Gateway students are withdrawn from mainstream for religious education and modern foreign languages to ensure they have the necessary time to complete interventions within the school day.  Some students benefit from withdrawal from other mainstream lessons to learn within the more supported environment of the Gateway Centre, where we have the capacity to differentiate further from the National curriculum. Fostering independence is key to our success
