Olympian visits Clarendon
Today Clarendon had a special assembly from a very special visitor, two-times gold medal winning Paralympic swimmer Graham Edmunds.
The children thought Graham was an amazing influence and he had everyone on the edge of their seats watching his re-run of his Olympic race where he won his second gold medal with the relay team.
Graham has never let anything get in the way of his dreams. Here’s what he had to say to some of the questions put to him by the pupils:
In the Pool
Greatest achievement to date: The heat swim in the 100m Freestyle in Beijing. I needed a two second personal best to make the 34 point relay team and knocked two and a half seconds off my personal best
Aspiration: To put the 50m Freestyle record out of the reach of anyone else for a long time and continue to be the fastest disabled athlete in the water
Who has been greatest influence on you: My little brother
